Use Facebook Custom Metrics

This week, Facebook rolled out an update where users can create custom metrics.

One cool, simple one is that FB didn’t originally have conversion rate in ads manager. Now, you can set that up in your dashboard. Other cool things include creating an expected LTV metric.

We can use this update to eliminate a lot of calculators and docs that we have running around. Trent will be putting together some new default dashboard views with this in mind.

Trent was seeing ads spend money in a careless way despite cost caps. This is probably because FB thinks it is going to get people to convert at an estimated action rate that’s no longer true.
