Emily wants to let us know: when we go through traumatic times like these, it can often dredge up trauma from our past. This compounds with comparative suffering, where we compare our suffering to others and tell ourselves that our feelings and needs aren’t serious because of the way they compare to others.

Let’s pay attention to our feelings and let ourselves process them. Take your needs seriously, ask for what you need, and work toward what you need.

We’re also better as a community. Solving problems together is the best way forward.
