All entrepreneurs are expected to meet CTC’s standards of work performance.  Work performance encompasses many factors, including attendance, punctuality, personal conduct, job proficiency and general compliance with CTC’s policies and procedures.

In the event that an entrepreneur’s job performance does not meet the standards established for the position, entrepreneurs should seek assistance from their supervisor or manager to attain an acceptable level of performance.

If an entrepreneur does not meet these standards, CTC may, under appropriate circumstances, may take other corrective action, other than immediate dismissal.  Corrective action may be in the form of a written or oral reprimand, notice(s) of inadequate job performance, performance improvement plan suspension, discharge or in any combination of the above, if CTC so elects. CTC reserves its prerogative to discipline, and the manner and form of discipline, at its sole discretion.

The intent of corrective action is to formally document problems while providing the entrepreneur  with a reasonable time within which to improve performance.  The process is designed to encourage development by providing entrepreneur s with guidance in areas that need improvement such as poor work performance, attendance problems, personal conduct, general compliance with CTC’s policies and procedures and/or other disciplinary problems.

Entrepreneurs who have received formal written warnings are not eligible for salary increases, bonus awards, promotions or transfers during the warning period, or within 6 months thereafter.

Because all entrepreneurs at CTC are at-will entrepreneurs, the entrepreneur or CTC may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice.

Progressive discipline is not mandatory, and CTC reserves the right to deviate from any order or form of progressive discipline.  Progressive discipline is also inapplicable to staff reductions and layoffs.
