Common Thread Collective wants to avoid any misunderstandings, complaints of favoritism, possible claims of sexual harassment, and decline in entrepreneur morale that can result from certain personal relationships between entrepreneurs.  Accordingly, entrepreneurs are encouraged to think twice before dating or becoming romantically involved with another entrepreneur in their workplace.  Before becoming romantically involved with another entrepreneur, Common Thread Collective asks entrepreneurs to consider whether they would be comfortable working with the entrepreneur if the relationship ends.

In certain circumstances, some personal relationships may create actual or potential conflicts of interest, cause disruption, create a negative or unprofessional work environment, present concerns regarding supervision, work performance, attitude, safety, security, or morale, and/or cause other work-related problems.  CTC asks you to use your good judgment to determine whether establishing a personal or dating relationship with another entrepreneur is appropriate under the circumstances.  If a dating relationship commences, CTC requests that the entrepreneurs involved promptly report the relationship to CTC’s Human Resources in the Differentiation Department. While CTC recognizes that such a conversation may be uncomfortable, it is important both to confirm the voluntary and consensual nature of the relationship, and to ensure appropriate safeguards or changes are put in place to eliminate or reduce the concerns discussed in this paragraph.  CTC entrepreneurs are also not permitted to discuss romantic topics inappropriate for the workplace (or send electronic communications during work hours containing such content), whether or not related to other CTC entrepreneurs.  Please always use reasonable, professional judgment and be courteous toward others.
