CTC thrives on data. Even our business model is an equation: (V x CR x CM) – VC = $. A contributing factor to our success is a profitability breakdown by entrepreneur , per client. If you’re one of the lucky CTC entrepreneurs that works directly with an awesome CTC client or, if you’re non exempt status, you’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete records of time worked and time off to accurately assess profitability across the organization. Plus it’s how we comply with some legal obligations we have to the state and federal government.

For non-exempt entrepreneurs, no work is to be performed when the entrepreneur  is “off the clock,” either during an unpaid meal period, before or after work, on weekends, or on a holiday, vacation, sick leave or leave of absence.  Work includes such activities as creating, reviewing, and responding to work related voicemail and email beyond a simple communication regarding an absence or change of schedule. Any non-exempt entrepreneur who performs work “off the clock” does so in violation of Common Thread Collective policy and may be subject to discipline, up to and including termination. Any supervisor who solicits or tolerates a non-exempt entrepreneur  working “off the clock” also violates Common Thread Collective policy and may be subject to discipline, up to and including termination.

Falsifying or tampering with time record system or time cards is forbidden.  This includes one entrepreneur  reporting the time of another entrepreneur , which is forbidden.  Time records are company property and cannot be taken from the premises.  Violations of these rules subject an entrepreneur  to discipline, up to and including termination of employment.

Exempt entrepreneurs are paid a set salary that, with some exceptions, does not change based on the amount of time the entrepreneur works.  Accordingly, exempt entrepreneurs are expected from time to time to work outside of regular working hours, including on evenings and weekends.
