How To: Opt-Out Syncing Customer Feedback from Website [Meta]

First and Foremost: How do I opt out?

If you don’t want this content to be synced from your website, you can opt out by following these steps:

1 Go to Commerce Manager

2 Click Settings in the left hand navigation

3 Find the section labeled “Syncing Customer Feedback from Your Website”

4 Click the toggle switch to turn syncing off. You can click it again to turn syncing back on at any time.

By opting out, any customer feedback content previously synced from your website will be removed from your shop.

Where did this come from?

Starting today (May 13, 2022), Meta may begin syncing product ratings and reviews and questions and answers from your website to your shop using automated software.

They believe it is important to provide shoppers with even more opportunities to build trust as they learn from other shoppers if a product is right for them.

This content will appear publicly alongside products in your shop on Meta Company Products, including Facebook and Instagram. You can opt out of this feature at any time in Commerce Manager.

What do I need to do?

If you’d like ratings and reviews and questions and answers from your website to appear on your shop, you don’t need to do anything. Meta may automatically sync them from the website URL you’ve provided starting today.

However, it’s possible that they won’t be able to sync product reviews and Q&A from your website due to technical constraints.

Does this replace my existing ratings and reviews on Shops?

No. People who’ve bought your products on Instagram and Facebook can still post ratings and reviews directly on our platform, and existing reviews will remain there. Ratings synced from your website will be incorporated into the overall rating for each product in your shop.

Why can’t I see ratings and reviews or questions and answers from my website on my shop?

Due to technical constraints, Meta may not be able to sync customer feedback from your website at this time. They are working to continue improving the capabilities of this feature.

Can I choose which of my ratings and reviews and questions and answers to sync?

No. Meta currently only allow full syncing, or none at all. If you’d like to opt out, please follow the opt out instructions.
